Eid ul Adha Message (1442 Hijrah, July 2021)
You cannot attain to righteousness unless you spend out of what you love. And what you spend, Allah surely knows it.
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
I wish you all a very happy Eid ul Adha. May Allah shower his bounties upon you
Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, Imam uz Zaman, Mujadid, Masih-i-Mau‘ood and Mahdi-i-Mau‘ood, interpreting the above cited verse states on page 62 of his book Fath-i-Islam:
"You cannot achieve real righteousness which leads you to salvation except by spending in the way of Allah the wealth and things which are dear to you."
If a person is asked to name two things which are dearest to him, the most likely answer will be one’s offspring and one’s own life.
When Hazrat Ibrahim, may peace be upon him, saw in a dream that Allah desired that he should sacrifice his son, he immediately submitted. Hazrat Ismail too submitted to Allah’s command by being ready to be sacrificed. In this manner both the father and the son were ready to give in Allah’s way what was dearest to them - to Hazrat Ibrahim his son and to Hazrat Ismail his own life. Thus, by fulfilling the commands of Allah, they were both successful in the great trial they were subjected to.
Throughout his life Hazrat Ibrahim consistently obeyed every command of Allah and demonstrated his full submission.
When his Lord said to him, Submit, he said: I submit myself to the Lord of the Worlds. (2:131).
The Holy Qur’an has declared Hazrat Ibrahim, may peace be upon him, and those with him as role models for the believers.
Indeed, there is for you a good example in Ibrahim and those with him (60:4).
Allah is always aware of how a person puts into practice what he believes and the efforts he makes to please Him. When Allah is pleased He blesses the obedient ones with His favours. Indeed Allah opened wide the doors of His bounties for Hazrat Ibrahim. The Holy Bible states:
And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heavens and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes and my laws. (Genesis 26:4-5)
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
I end my message with a prayer that may Allah grant us steadfastness in submission to Him and help us follow the grand example of Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismail, may peace be upon them, and make us worthy of receiving from Allah the abundant blessings which He bestows on those who submit completely to His commands.
Aameen summa aameen.
