Hoo. With
great consternation I learnt this morning
that our dear sister Samina has been
hospitalised in Columbus, Ohio, with chest
pains as a result of what doctors suspect
is a mild heart attack. A few weeks ago,
she was examined at the world-renowned
Mayo Clinic in Cleveland and had been
advised open-heart surgery to repair
leaking valves in her heart. Such is the
devotion of this Ahmadee sister that she
had her surgery scheduled for January 2004
so that she could attend the Annual Jalsa
in Lahore during December 2003. Three days
ago she talked to me and informed that she
had booked her air passage to Lahore for
the Jalsa. Soon afterwards, this
indisposition struck. Sister
Samina needs no introduction to the
Jamaats of the Ahmadiyya Anjuman in
Pakistan and abroad. For the last thirty
years or so she has been working
tirelessly for the cause of Islam and
Ahmadiyyat around the world. As recently
as a few weeks ago, she and her husband
Dr. Noman Malik joined me and other
delegates in Indonesia for the Annual
Jalsa of the Indonesian Ahmadiyya
Jamaat. The
Promised Messiah taught us that prayer is
the most efficacious weapon against all
inflictions and certainly the news of
sister Saminas indisposition has
inflicted us greatly. I entreat all
members of the Jamaat, men, women
and children, to bow down before the
Almighty and beseech His mercy for the
health of our dear sister. May Allah
Tala heal her and grant her a long
and productive life. Aameen. Seeker
of your prayers, 21st

List
of converts updated till 6th October
2003
[Alhamdolillah,
Total Count= 249] Dear
Brothers and Sisters, By the
grace of Allah Almighty, Hazrat Ameer,
Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Saeed, together with
delegates from the Central Anjuman arrived
back in Lahore safely at 2300 hours last
night (3rd October 2003). Alhamdolillah
[All praise be to
Allah!]. Hazrat
Ameer had gone to Indonesia to attend an
International Symposium organised by the
Indonesia Jama'at [Branch of the
Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement] in
Yogyakarta on 24th September 2003. The
theme of the Seminar was Reality of
Fathi Islam (Victory of Islam).
Hazrat Ameer delivered the keynote address
on Ahmadiyyat, a Spreading and
Defending Islam Movement. The
participants of the Symposium, who
included Government officials, Dawah
Islam Organisations, faculty and students
of universities and members and
sympathisers of the Indonesia
Jamaat, very well received this.
Transcript of Hazrat Ameers address
to the Symposium can be
viewed
online. The
seminar was followed by a two-day
convention of the Indonesia Jama'at. On
27th September 2003 the Jama'at celebrated
fifty-six years of the founding of Islamic
Education Foundation of the Republic of
Indonesia. Thereafter, Hazrat Ameer
visited various other centres of the
Jama'at in Indonesia and held very useful
discussions on the future of our worldwide
mission of propagation of
Islam. May
Allah Ta'ala shower His blessings on the
delegates who endured the hardships and
expenses of this journey merely for His
pleasure. Aameen. Hazrat
Ameer also thanks all members of the
Jama'at whose prayers for the success of
his mission were a source of strength for
him. We
shall, Insha Allah keep you informed of
the details in due course. Wassalaam, What's
