Islamic Urdu Poem #9:

by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad

How to Achieve the Highest Moral Conduct

Edited and Translated by Sheikh Muhammad Tufail

Pray for those who abuse you and offer comfort to those who hurt you.
When you meet the haughty and proud, be humble.

Restrain your animal self; for there is no other enemy more dangerous than it.
Imperceptibly it brings about (your) destruction.

He who has succeeded in controlling his barer self —
Even Rustam and Isfandyar are nonentities to him.

Do not grieve at the violence and rage of the people.
Showers of spring come down only after the earth has suffered intense heat.

Come towards me with all sincerity; this is where your welfare lies.
There are beasts all around; I am the fortress of security.

Note:
Rustam was a famous person in Persian history, proverbially known for his bravery
Isfandyar was a great Persian King
