Hazrat Ameer Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Saeed Pasha's Eid-ul-Azha (1426 AH) Message for the Jamaat (Movement) (11th January 2006) [in English]:

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Surely We have given thee abundance of good.
So pray to thy Lord and sacrifice.
Surely thy enemy is cut off (from good).
(The Holy Quran: 108:1-3)

Dear Members of the Jamaat [Movement],

Assalaam-o-Alaikum Wa Rakhmatullahi Wa Barakaato Hoo.

We will be celebrating Eid-ul-Adha to mark the completion of the Hajj, the Pilgrimage. This is a form of a devotional act which Allah has ordained on the Muslims and is a form of service which represents a man’s humbleness, devotion, and submissiveness; will to stay on the path of steadfastness and spirit of sacrifice. Thus Hajj is the ultimate form of prayer which holds within it the spirit of all other prayers that Allah has ordained for the Believers.

The actual celebration of the Eid, a day of recurring happiness in its literal sense, is also a day spent in spiritual devotional activities particularly the prayer and the sacrificing of an animal both of which are eluded in verses of the Chapter 108 of the Holy Quran with which I started this message.

In its second verse Allah commands ‘So pray to thy Lord and sacrifice’ thus rendering both the services mandatory for us to follow.

Dear bothers and sisters,

I hope that we can come out of the mosques after the Eid prayer with the intention to carry on with the spirit of devotion and submissiveness which Prophet Abraham (pbuh) demonstrated in his life and thus became a role model for all those who are Muslims, i.e., submitters to the Will of Allah; we should also be ready to make every sacrifice that Allah may try us with in the defense and propagation of Islam, the prime goal of all members of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat [Movement]; we should be as submissive as the animal that we sacrifice; we should live in such a way that we in all sincerity may from the depth act upon the verse 6:163 which states:

‘My prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are surely for Allah, the Lord of the worlds. No associate has He.’

I pray that Allah grant us the spirit of the Eid so our prayers, sacrifices, lives and death are in His service. May Allah remove all hurdles that come up in the spread of Islam.

Aameen.
