Isha'at Islam (Lahore) Berlin, Germany
(3rd to 5th September
1999) International
Convention, Ahmadiyya Anjuman Isha'at Islam (Lahore) Berlin,
Germany: Mr. Shahid Aziz, Secretary of the UK Branch of AAIIL, reports: (Note: Minor modifications appear.) Members will be pleased to learn that a very successful convention was held in Germany during the first week end in September. The jalsa (Convention) started with the Friday prayers and ended after Sunday lunch. Members from all over Germany travelled to attend the jalsa. Some people had to drive for twelve hours to get to the jalsa. The main speeches took place on Saturday afternoon and there was a dars (religious talk) of the Holy Quran on Sunday after Fajr (morning) prayers. Members also saw the progress being made in repairing the mission house and the mosque. Scaffolding has been placed around one of the minars (minarets) and building work on it will start soon. After the convention, a meeting of the foreign delegates took place. In this meeting important decisions were taken to further improve the co-ordination between the UK, German and the Holland jamaats (branches). The Dutch delegation will put these ideas to their jamaat for ratification. In the meantime, the UK and German jamaats have already started implementing the agreed proposals.
