Aainaa-e-Kamalaat-e-Islam is regarded as one of Hazrat Mirza Sahibs most brilliant works, next to Barahin-i-Ahmadiyya and Surma-i-Chasham Arya. Hazrat Mirza Sahib started writing this book in 1892 and it was published in February 1893. Rightly entitled 'A Mirror to the Wonders of Islam', he has really opened up the marvels of the Islamic faith in this book. He has written hundreds of pages in explanation of the verse 112 of chapter 2 of the Holy Quran:
and extracted from this single verse the definition of Islam, its teachings and a description of the exalted ranks that its true followers are blessed with, in such a splendid fashion that one really has to admit that each verse of the Quran is a fountain of boundless wisdom for those who are endowed with perception. In the same context, he has elucidated the various stages of mans spiritual development in such a simple way that even a person of little learning can understand it.
At the end of the book, he has included those notices and invitations that he was sending out for various purposes in those days. One such notice was addressed to the scholars of all religions, in which Hazrat Mirza Sahib invited them to come to him and learn the truth of Islam and witness the blessed heavenly signs that would prove that Islam is the only true and living religion whose true followers can find God, and attain the spiritual status at which God answers their prayers, and speaks to them, and gives them news of certain future events, and reveals to them some of His innermost secrets, such as He pleases. Hazrat Mirza Sahib has forcefully challenged the followers of other religions to show such signs in support of their faiths, but no one dared to answer his call because there is no life left in the other faiths and they cannot lead a person to God.
A notice in Arabic entitled At-Tubleegh (The Exhortation) was also published along with the book. This was addressed to religious leaders of Muslims in the entire Islamic world and directed their attention towards the innovations (bidaat) they had introduced into the faith, which were against the spirit of Islam and not a part of it. Hazrat Mirza Sahib called upon them to join him, the Imam of the Age, and to adhere closely to the Word of God and the Sunnah, giving up all such dubious practices. He has also given arguments in support of his claims in this notice, which is comprehensive enough to be regarded as a complete book.
A strange sign from God was seen concerning the Arabic language of this composition. It so happened that when Hazrat Mirza Sahib made the intention of preaching to the scholars and princes (guddee nasheen) and consulted his friends about it, Maulvi Abdul Karim Sahib opined that such people should be addressed in the Arabic language. Hazrat Mirza Sahib considered it to be a good suggestion, but he did not know Arabic very well. So he announced that he would go inside to compose his message, and then together all of them would translate it into Arabic. On his return, however, Hazrat Mirza Sahib bore a composition in Arabic which was so masterfully written that scholars like Maulvi Abdul Karim and Maulana Nur-ud-din were astounded. Maulvi Abdul Karim declared that he had never before encountered such exquisitely compounded Arabic during the course of his exhaustive study of Arabic literature. Hazrat Mirza Sahib then disclosed that as a result of his earnest supplications, Allah, the Most High, had taught him as many as 40,000 root words of Arabic. The veracity of this claim of Hazrat Mirza Sahib was established by the expressiveness of his Arabic writings, concerning which he also challenged all the Arab scholars of the world, but none dared to face him. Thus, Hazrat Mirza Sahibs exceptional command over the Arabic language was a sign from God.
